In his recent series titled Stadium, Martin Bureau presents the ruins of monumental amphitheaters. In these deserted temples of entertainment, consumption, and worship, the empty stands become the scars of a vanished society. Alone, the stadium – once an infrastructure of social cohesion serving power – now rises as a spectral carcass, both immense and absurd. Martin Bureau echoes the shared state of shock in the face of the decline of democracies and the weakening of geopolitical and environmental balances.
