Born in Kinngait (Cape Dorset, Nunavut), Padloo Samayualie is an artist whose practice centers primarily on drawing and printmaking. In 2001, after participating in a drawing workshop in Banff, she decided to devote herself fully to her artistic practice. Samayualie is known for the precision of her line and her strong sense of color. Through careful observation of the world around her, she draws inspiration from photographs and personal memories. In 2016, she took part in an artist residency at the Brooklyn Museum (New York). Her work has been presented in Canada and internationally.
