Renewing the tradition of still life, the artist draws inspiration from the splendor and fragility of the natural world to create works that are both bold and mesmerizing.
In this exhibition, Cynthia Dinan-Mitchell invites us to connect with our environment and to feel the encounter between strangeness, freedom, seduction and humor. With lush compositions, she celebrates fauna and flora while incorporating familiar elements to unveil the unexpected beauty and magic that lie at the heart of everyday life. Through painting, screen printing, and ceramics, she creates surreal realms where the extraordinary intertwines with the mundane, thus weaving surprising visual narratives.
Each arrangement is a world to be discovered, brimming with intricate details, textures, hidden symbolism, and vivid colors –a complex meld of eclectic stylistic references that beckons exploration, contemplation, and a quest for meaning.
